| 1950s-60s: Gonzague Hermier invented the first automatic case handling machines. 1978: Thimon buys G.Hermier company whose carton case activity is managed by Michel Hermier and Daniel Barbanceix. 1984: Michel Hermier SA is created offering engineering and supply of complete packaging lines. 1992-99: Michel Hermier SA buys Somefi and Samovie, both specializing in continuous handling systems, and Mapco (filling machines for wine, alcoholic drinks & spirits) | 1947: Le Monte-Vite is created in Cholet manufacturing handling conveyors. 1972: Le Monte Vite produces its first palletizers. 1974: German group FTH Hambourg creates FTH in Mulhouse. 1984-85: Bongrain takes over FTH and Le Monte-Vite. 1986: NEWTEC trademark is registered. FTH specializing in bag palletizing and Le Monte Vite becoming Newtec Palettisation, specializing in unit load palletizing systems, form Newtec International. Jean-Bernard Ihler becomes General Manager. 1995: ITW buys Newtec International. 1997: Newtec International leaves ITW ; MBO with 3i and IPO. |
2001: Hermier buys Newtec International (MBO with 3i & IPO) ; the group becomes Newtec International Group.
